SS Great Britain is Damaged

The SS Great Britain is damaged is a storm off Cape Hope. She takes shelter in the Falkland Islands, but when the damage is inspected it is decided that it will not be economically viable to repair her. She is then sold on to the Falkland Islands Company to be used as a coal storage hulk.

HMS Victoria Launched

She was the first battleship to be equipped with triple expansion steam engines, which made her the fastest and most powerful ironclad afloat.
